Nashville....do you hang out at the Wild Horse Saloon?
Is Ernest Williams Produce still in business? -
Has more potential use than the vast majority of posts on this forum....
Does this site verify your "status" in the trucking world? Many on this site put anything in that field - even if they've been driving for decades.
Cool - what made you leave your 23 year air traffic controller position? -
When I was in truck driving school we all went to the Wildhorse Saloon. The upstairs was closed off for a private party. We were having a good time and a couple of us leaned on the stage watching CMT on about a dozen tv monitors they had lined on both side of the empty stage. I like rock so I was kind of not use to this place. But heck beer and woman are the same!
Anyways out of the blue this longhaired guy comes up and leans on the stage with us and started talking with us. I had no idea who he was. We talked a good 5 minutes and then another new music video come on them TV's. There was that guy on them tv's. I looked at him and looked at the tvs a couple times.
He smiled at us and walked past security and went back up stairs. I just drank a beer with Travis Tritt. I thought that was pretty cool.

No, I don't hang out much at all but when I do it's usually at a small place called "Last Call". Good local bands and close to home so I don't have to drive.

Nice advice, but thinking small doesn't work very well when all the companies I've applied to (except the ones that are cdl mills) want at least one year experience. Went to a 200 hour school, but that doesn't count for anything. poo.
Haven't given up yet, but it's not very encouraging.
Ya'll take care and drive safe.

It is getting more and more difficult for these smaller companies to insure inexperienced drivers. That's why a lot of the companies want at least a year in, and most small (mom and pop) companies want 2 or 3 years...it's not that they don't want to hire you. They just can't. Big companies are self insured and can decide themselves whether or not they want to hire you...hence why the mega carriers are the mega employers.
