Attended GP job fair Oct 2, had 3 offers. One was a 22/13 with supplied lodging and airfare was covered. How the offer was prepared was very well done. The employee ends up paying, the 22/13 makes substantially less than the 15/6 employee. Covers the cost of flights and there no northern pay.
I chose to do the 15/6 make about $1700 per month more just on salary and northern pay.
Keep the comments coming!!oilfield Thanks this. -
be aware that after your car is in alberta for 183 cumulative days within a calendar year (jan1 - dec 31), icbc will not cover you in case of a claim in ab....so in effect from oct- dec each yr youre not insured within ab border, so be careful
and your autoplan broker wont know this, lol.
ive got territory z pleasure cuz i only drive it 3 days a month, yer allowed up to 6 uses for work on pleasure, otherwise insure for work, at extra cost. -
Congrats Freedom, we're on the same rotation maybe even the same company! might see you around up there.

Yepper, got Territory Z & she cautioned me to re-register & insure in AB once the 183 have expired. Seems crazy to go to the expense of doing an out of province inspection etc. just so your truck can sit in the employers yard for 3 weeks at a time.

take a different vehicle don't use the same 1 all the time

But way cheaper, my 09 ram 1500 has full coverage in Alberta for $737, still cheaper even after it paid the inspection fee $300, and then each year it just saves me money to insure in Alberta compared to BC
rainyday lover Thanks this. -
Yep, or buy a beater in AB and leave it there if you don't have a second BC vehicle. $300 seems a lot for an inspection, but 3 separate AB GM dealers were charging $500 to install a block heater in my truck, so I got it installed in BC for $340!

are you saying take one for 160 days, another for the remaining 80ish? to get under the 183 days?
that doesnt work -
well it was what I had in mind, wasn't sure if it was based off the driver or the vehicle. James has a good alternative
