    Hi there,

I bought a used truck and the sales guy got me a 2 year engine and trans with rears....turbo injectors for one year....

I was looking over the warranty paperwork and the transmission warranty has me wondering.....they said that they would not cover the transmission if it goes out due to bad shifting or broken teeth on the gears...but they do cover the other failures...

    Bearings and Races
    Internal Gears
    Outer Cases
    Shafts
    Synchronizer

how would these fail...basically, I my transmission is acting up and I want it covered by the warranty and want the mechanic to be able to tell the warranty people that the problem is within the guidelines...

Also, what makes an injector go bad...what do I need to tell them is worn out so they can be replaced...

I am not a mechanic and was wondering what other failures are they talking about....basically I am wondering under what factors would they cover a new transmission and injectors

If you read the NTP warranty it says something like "no coverage for wear out". I think the coverage is worthless because it seems like they have an out every time by saying the covered part just "wore out". I guess if you threw a rod through the block maybe they'd cover but the most likely stuff to go wrong looked to me like you'd never get them to pay out. I've decided to run with what factory warranty is left on the truck I'm buying and save the $3000-4000 they want for that warranty to pay for the repair myself.

I would talk to the people you bought the warranty from. Do they have a shop? Maybe they can and will help you. Call NTP ask if they have someone in your area they work with. Go to your local Pete dealer ask them for their input and whether they have any experience dealing with NTP. NTP has to have some kind of system for resolving their claims. I really doubt that you are going to get a new trans. if something in the trans failed they probably will repair what failed at a prorated rate as long as the trans was not abused.
