Hello everyone, I am trying to purchase this 2005 freightliner columbia day cab with 618000 miles. I havent seen the truck in person yet besides from the pictures. The truck looks good, however, i am worried about all the rust i see under the hood. Is this something i should be concerned bout too much. The truck is a ryder truck and they usually have all their trucks road and dot ready prior to selling them. Let me know what you guys think. Please help me make a good decision. Thank you in advance.

We bought 5 used Freightliner daycabs from Ryder a few years ago that showed very well, They all had around 4-500k on them and they turned out to be never ending money pits, I do not think they get the maintenance through their life span that Ryder portrays. Obviously I have not seen this perticular truck and can not give you an educated recomondation on it's condition but I will say that we will not purchase any more used ryder trucks. A polished turd is still a turd

We looked at buying a couple Ryder trucks I think there where 3-4 only one passed when dyno'd them before buying

This gal has lived near the coast.....and it's a twin turbo cat. I like it at 20k as is...if he wants more then trade him for Cat warranty. A premium inframe on that engine is 20k plus...... and she's not worth 40 k any day.
They have records...have you reviewed them?
jmo , good luck
