yeah, but it also requires internet.,

verizon texted and emailed me that i went through 6 added overages. so we're going to be having a beach session. 6 added overages for a 3 gig map. surfing the internet is all i do. i never go over half a gig. this 3 gigs is the only thing i downloaded. but i have 6 gigs over my alloted 6 gigs.

12 gigs i've used for one 3 gig map.

Check out Verizon thru Straight Talk, that's what I have.

It's unlimited, though the speed slows after 2.5gb it's still the best solution for OTR, even if you just consider the $45/mo your GPS payment.

If nothing else Smart Truck Route still gives you the list of truck route directions.

I tried Mapfactor free version, allows height and weight, and it routed around a low pass westbound into downtown Raleigh (Peace St RR). Truck profile options are max speed, gross weight, WPA, L, W, H, Hazmat.

I installed it on a tablet with built in GPS receiver with up to 14 satellites. Still need to download open source maps. NC and VA appear up to date.

Another program I like is OsmAND+ (US $7.99 paid) has a better GUI, many features, but no height and weight.
