Carolina is a burn and turn outfit that keeps you moving in a straight line, keeps you from spending at truck stops and lot lizards.
With them you're ready move on in 6 months and many OTR companies will hire you with a 6 months clean driving record, JB Hunt comes to mind.
Call them, take the job at Carolina Cargo, because in the time you're thinking about it you could be closer to a decent paying company.

I won't mention his name, but another CC driver I used to communicate with was avg. $700.00 weekly that's what he told me; maybe bills submitted too late or overlapping one week or whatever. It's a start for someone who is unemployed and with 77 applications rejected. Another consideration is the felony. Maybe it's something the other companies don't want to touch until he proves himself with CC. My cousin had the same problem after 25 years in Leavenworth, but once he proved himself on that first job, everything was fine afterwards. Of course you know from experience pay can fluctuate pulling a reefer, and multiple pickups of produce on the West Coast can make for a bad week, then maybe the next week it's a one stop pickup. It's a personal call for Rons1985 but if it were me in that situation, I would give it a try.DoneYourWay, fr8te_sh8ker and TruckDuo Thank this.

Your last paragraph is my wife's opinion. As far as lot lizards go, let me tell you this. I'm in Delaware and used to work in the prison system. I had a friend that was a nurse at the female prison. They did a huge sting op at our truck stop one month. My friend said that in one week, just in his 8 hours of day shift, he processed 11 hookers. 10 of them popped positive for HIV. No freakin' way would I ever get a lot lizard!

If I were a man I think common sense would tell one not to get with a lot lizard, HIV being one of many things you can get.
With cell phone camera's they're all turning the old trick called blackmail. With CC you won't have any money
but your wife would probably do a number on you.
Be safe and get on with your life, call Carolina Cargo tomorrow. Be ready to roll next week and not see your lovely wifey for 5 weeks, come home for a few days a go back out, and repeat. Before you know it you'll be getting calls from the other 77 companies. -
Excellent advice.Sometimes you have to go with a not so good company to clear your record.I did and stayed over 2 yrs.

I wish there were more 'boot camps' like Carolina Cargo for those who are at rock bottom because that's where you have to be to turn your life around sometimes.
And in my opinion it is the powerful and intimidating insurance companies, who use profiles and statistics, that keep good people who have made a few mistakes from rebounding more quickly.DoneYourWay and pattyj Thank this. -
Have looked at their carrier score?
Unsafe driving-97.2
HOS- 59.3
Driver Fitness-86.1
Maintenance_74.5 -
I would honestly keep looking for another job. I know it is tough, but these people look like a sinking ship.

I like the company im at now and have zero complaints about them. But the one before this one hired felons and whoever. Some were hired without going thru their insurance.Horrible equipment, horrible safety and horrible pay.But sometimes you have to suck it up and take the first one that calls you.I tried quitting this company 3 times due to reasons I mentioned but I got a raise everytime. Finally had enough.I actually could have quit after a yr for companies to consider me.But the owner of coursed talked me out of it.

You can look at the specifics and see they haven't had a fatal crash too and their out of service is very low.
CC's score is pathetic but if you look at the mega's who can't get under 50% to save their lives, what good is the FMCSA BASIC system? Why are the big boys still rolling?
In fact, with a shockingly bad score why hasn't FMCSA put them out of business? It's just a warning system not a judgement. Think about it.
