Home sweet home, took me awhile to get home after I tcalled in Montebello. The I5 was shut down for a bit near the 14 exit from a brush fire, took over a hour to move .3 miles then stopped for awhile longer, finally I started cooking some food and as soon as I finished we started moving which figures. I was 1.2 miles from the 14 exit so it sucked I couldnt get to it for so long but I guess some drivers on the bypass decided to finally take the 14 around and it cleared up to that point. Will head back north probably Tuesday to continue moving lease trailers, I should be busy for another month or so. Would be nice if I could join into that Walmart blitz after but by then im sure they will have all the drivers they need.

When I ferried trailers to Manteno terminal is was easy, and good, money.
Very high cpm as well as short haul pay.
I only did 4 of them, however.
It seemed all the drivers doing that all had been stacked with 4.

its always bad in that area to find one, I know a couple different occasions I spent hours driving and searching. Im sure they could of found one somewhere but probably didnt look hard enough. The DM im working with right now first searches for trailers that have been sitting for awhile before we go after MT's drivers might go looking for. One trailer I picked up sat on a side street for 11 months, another 54 days and the list goes on yet these planners can never find an mt for someone....

    I know.

My current load was sent to me as bobtail in to pick it up.
The shipper refused without an mt.

I sent several messages to the night people, over several hours, and never got an mt.

When my own DM came on duty, he found me an mt 2 miles away - in a matter of minutes.

yeah I think the night/weekend crew and planners are just plain lazy and expect you to find it yourself or wait. I know the one time they sent me to 6 different places and I found out at those places they sent a bunch of other drivers as well with no MT's for any of them, you would think if there was no mt for the first guy then there probably is not one for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th...guy...

I know with that one I ended up just going to my own place, went to a target dc and found a mt they would let me have.

These reasons are some of why I dont like accepting loads at night or on the weekend, without having your DM its hard to get things done. I prefer to try my best to have my stuff planned during the day and hope to have a load already before a weekend hits.

yeah..its a pain dealing with the weekend crew. alot of trucks sat here all weekend with an mt attached to there trucks. i think one way of solving that problem is doing what pheonix and some other terminals do. if you're not dispatched on a load the my is taken off you. i know it get hard to find mt's and thats why they hold on to theirs.

Jeffersonville, OH. From the time of Dispatch until finally getting loaded, and this including leaving shippers because a roof patch came loose, 10 hours, 40 miles is as far as I got. Well, I have until 0800 on Friday to get to Mesa, and if Command can get a pu and del time changed, will have a reload from Eloy to Cleveland. 3800 miles for 8 days. Not shabby. They were wondering if could pu on Friday and make a Monday del, and 1900 miles in 2.5 days, do not think so.
