Looks like Werner has a hole to dig out of. I like them at one time.

Wife and I been doing werner since Sptember '05, no problems with training, she had a some issues but worked it out, we ran for 14 months as company drivers doing 290,000 miles in all 48 and some dedicated accounts. Made over $100,000 our first year then bought a truck from them, got the deal through them and their bank, then soon after we re-wrote note for lower interest.
This last year as Owner Operators we brought in $257,000 to our trucking corp., of course $121,000 was for fuel but we been doing good at werner because we have stayed committed to success. Ya, we stay out 8-10 weeks at a time but we own our truck and run our business as we want. We are now free to make choices, if you want it, there it is go and get it!

Ya, you're completely correct about weener not being my first company, CFI was. I had to leave after 14 months with them due to my wifes health. I relocated in northern Michigan where my 2nd house/retirement is. I drove for a small company there, 379 Pete with all the bells and whistles, 48' dryvan, and 53' Reitnouer spread axle curtainside. After 2 weeks they found out their insurance company wouldn't cover me with less than 2 years experience. Hence, I came back down here and hired with weener, after Thanksgiving, since they guarenteed [sp]I would drive in Canada, my choice.
At any rate, I've been driving the big trucks since 9/11/06, maybe a prophetic date, eh? And yes, that's not as long as most, but don't I deserve to be treated a little better than I have been by the morons in nondriving positions?
All my semi-adult life I've been in, around, worked on, serviced, and operated, much larger equipment than an 18 wheeler. Read my personnal info.

I don't really need to explain to you or anyone else any of my particulars, but wiil anyway.

Terminal location has ZERO to do with my dis-satisfaction. Crap, luckily I've not seen any sort of terminal, other than our place in Milton On, since I left Unsprungfield Ohio

I'm merely relating my problems, without embellishment of any sort, I may add.

Tell ya what, IF my POS comes out of the shop today, I'll shoot some photos for you and post them when I can. When I can means, when hometime occurs again. I've got some serious driving to do trying to make up a week of sitting, 5 days of which are because weener gave me a POS to try to make some bucks for them, as well as myself.

By the way, I won't accuse you of anything, but are you a team driver or recruiter?

Hey Cali, since I've in a sense bared my soul, how about your self? You've got just a bit longer than myself driving at 22 yrs old. How'd you do that?

At orientation they told us they had a 120% turn over rate- this came from their mouths
I thought Crete and Werner were like a sister company....CL sold werner to crete for a penny when he was getting divorced then bought some back after the divorce- thats what I have always heard

I hope you are making money staying out that long. I like going home every other week and I still made well over 50 k. Companies that make drivers stay away from home this amount of time are not worth driving for in my own opion.

There are people all over who have good and bad experiences with various companies and that's just normal. But Werner is almost completely a "beginners" company anymore.

That said, Werner has ISSUES! I was told a couple days ago, C.L. Werner has taken charge of the company again, after about a 1yr absence. He needed to.

My own "not so good" experiences with them would take far too long to type. I will say, Werner Ent. owes me for what I've calculated to be TWENTY-ONE DAYS of layover pay dating from 24 NOV through 23 FEB! They've agreed they owe 15 of them, but still haven't managed to pay those days. What's more, I got NO paycheck for last week and it's not the 1st time this has happened. I'm expecting to have need for an attorney soon.

I'm in a terminal right now, where I've been since Saturday. I came in due to a broken qual-comm and we noticed a flat inside rear when I pulled into the shop. They fixed the tire today... Today... It's a tire! They held me for over 48hrs to replace a TIRE!!!!

Following that, I'm now on "safety hold" because of the QC being broken. I already had my logs updated. I already fax'd my paper log to verify. They still haven't released me, but my truck is okay. Some knucklehead in LOGS dept wants me to take an HOS test before allowing me to leave the yard. Could I take the test? Sure... But I won't. I see no need in doing this merely to make them happy. They've already corrected my logs. They AGREED with me and still, expect me to waste time taking an unnecessary test. It isn't bad enough that they ADMIT BREAKING FEDERAL LAW by changing my logs to begin with... Now I'm supposed to suffer a penalty for their mistake. Not gonna happen. Not with me.

I'm in my 5th truck and when it was issued a couple Saturdays ago, it had a RED TAG affixed to the D/S mirror!!! I waited SEVEN DAYS for repairs when they had over 120 brand new, APU equipped trucks on the very lot I was sitting. They provided a motel room for 2 of those nights. The rest, I sat in a red tagged truck burning costly fuel. The service writer told my dispatcher 4 difference times that my truck was "good to go" and never once had a single repair mechanic even taken a glance at it from within 20 feet. Nobody had asked me a single question about why it might still need to be repaired. Nobody asked me jack-didly about the truck I am expected to take across the country. They don't care about these trucks from what I see in mine and others.

More details are available, but that's a few silly issues I've dealt with. I have decided that the next time I get home, I'm leaving this company. The bottom line is simple really. I can only deal with "STUPID" for so long. Werner has long since past the usual threshhold of my patience.

I know some happy Werner drivers and that's good. The majority seem to be far less than happy. I read recently, Wener has a 127% turnover rate. That's shameful. C.L. apparently fired all terminal driver relations managers a few weeks ago. I know most were simply moved to new positions, but that is saying something. Werner no longer has those DRM's in all locations. Instead, they are all supposedly in Omaha, NE. Again, soon I'll be home and when I am, I'm out.
