Any trucklod going into NYC is going to be right off an interstate, I do Long Island City (western Queens) every 3 weeks or so and it's easy to get to. LTL deliveries and pickups anywhere around NYC can suck. I like to get in, deliver, pick upa truckload in NJ and get the hell out of that area. They won't send you there if you don't want to go, some of us prefer those runs and they know that so a new guy isn't likely to get sent there. Canada is easy, just need your passport and a $20 bill to cross the bridge coming back out. It's actually easier to navigate than most places in the US. I've been there 100 times before but only once with Cheeseman, the customer was right off the 401.

Do Chessman trucks have apu's w the generators or inverters ? Also I'm curious do they run Maxforce engines in those prostars or are they ordering the trucks with the Cummins engines?I also wonder if I am in their hiring area being in Garrison KY 11miles east of Vanceburg Ky along the river or the AA hwy. or 14 miles west of Portsmouth OH.

Now officially a Cheeseman!!! Very impressed with the company and everyone I met at orientation. I spent just about a year investigating them before I applied.
runningman0661 Thanks this. -
not much new, average take home pay $740 a week and home 5 nights a week for the past 2 weeks. delivered a load 7 miles from home and worked a grand total of 1 hour today with the rest of the weekend off.

BFL123 Thanks this. -
Anything new going on at Cheeseman? It seems like one of the better jobs around, its just been quite on this thread and I'm curious. Thanks

Just working as much as possible now. Things tend to slow down around and after the holidays. I haven't been with Cheeseman during the holidays and am not sure if or how much they slow down, but am trying to get all I can now. The West Bank Inn is very nice, I would want to stay there with my family on vacation. If you do stay there the microwave is down by the ice machine. You have a fridge and 2 tv's in your room, but the microwave is community.

LTL slows down around the holidays, last year the crossdock was completely empty. there are still truckloads to deliver, a few years ago I had to deliver the day after thanksgiving.
had the best week I've had all year this week, 2850 miles and $200 in stop pay, made $1225.
