I don't have a flat but freight has been down in general around SE Texas for a month or so. Not really sure why. Little surges here and there but overall not typical for start of 4th quarter.

    BAYOU Thanks this.

Sitting here in Baytown, Our rig moved went south for a week.
When you see at least 10 or more 7/8 axle units sitting with various companies.
No lds. and then a 3.00 a mile gross ld. pops up and is gone in a matter of minutes.
You really wonder how these guys can survive..

    Sleepy68 and SHC Thank this.

Ask them if they have any vouchers for food stamps so you can feed your family.

Curious with the slow down for ya'll on here why don't ya'll switch with the freight and haul van, reefer etc....?? Isn't a smart business adjusting to the freight?

Most of us have ran our businesses so that we don't have to do that. When freight is moving hot and heavy in the busy season you stay out and take advantage of it, then when the slow season hits you have some money in the bank and spend more time at home.

Had a buddy of mine explain it this way: Ever been to a strip club? When the crowd is throwing money at you, you keep your butt up on the stage.

Business has Ben booming in the Chicago area. I'm just waiting for the snow to start flying, and everyone to scatter down to Texas so I can charge more ;)
