Love's Travel Centers now accepting food stamp cards!

I use to work with a driver that made 50 grand a year at the company we worked at, a full time job, cursed the goverment to no end, something about this out of control spending and so on. With a full time job, he was getting $785 a month for food stamps, free medical coverage for his wife and kids and a whole bunch of other government freebee's. Something ain't right here. You have a full time job, a wife that doesn't work, and you are screwing the government out of food stamps? You are either part of the problem or part of the solution.

 

You should have reported him.

 

There is no shame in truck drivers using public assistance. If drivers were paid a livable wage, they wouldn't qualify for it.

 

Wrong, wrong, wrong.

Why should I have to pay for their food, housing, etc... If you are able bodied and able to work there is no excuse for being on welfare aka assistance.

If you can't make enough money trucking to support yourself and or your family do something else or get a second or third job.

 

Or at least tell the old lady to get off her lazy ### and get a job.

 

I shouldn't have to subsidize Werner's living wage out of my paycheck.

 

Not just truck stops but convenience stores in general, notice they're called CONVENIENCE stores and not cheap convenience stores.

 

I have a friend that used to work at a convenience store. She said you would be amazed how many food stamp losers did their grocery shopping there.

I don't have a problem with Loves accepting food stamps. Some good people have them due to circumstances they can't control.

Secondly Loves does not mix gas and diesel. Also their gas and diesel comes from the same racks as other major chains and independents. This here is just a baseless accusation from someone who doesn't know what they are talking about.
