Luckily we have Prepass so we miss a lot of scales. Although the last week and a half since I came off home time I have been over a good 20 scales in the Southeast. Just tends to slow you down.

KMac, yeah I hope some of my experiences in warehouse and also as a tow truck driver will apply, and help me out as a truck driver.. I have also gotten a fair amount of experiance up righting rolled over big rigs and, pulling them back up the sides of mountains..I am kinda hoping I dont have to draw upon that experience though. lol. I will say as a tow truck driver I have worked something like 30 or so fatalities in 8 years, I am happy to say only one of those was a big rig.

Must be nice I have a scales right where I live and work.. actually you probably know the Temecula, Ca. scales on I15. Lol. I have gone through those #### scales upwards of 10 times in a day.. lol actually I pissed off a Swift driver the other day lol I was in the empty lane and didnt realise till the last second that I was loaded....Cant wait to stop working these ridiculous hours.. Im exhausted.

Well the hours are wacky on this side too, but you adjust. You do really sound like you have the right attitude and temperment for the job. You never truly know until you experience it first hand, but If I'm a betting man I would say you have a better than average shot at making it.
Dodgerfan82 Thanks this. -
Well thank you sir, that is very reassuring. Out of curiosity what do you guys do for entertainment on the road? I mean you can only work 14hrs and drive for 11 so im guessing there is atleast a couple hours of down time each day. You must have something to occupy your free time.

posting on truckers report, catching up on facebook, and texting friends... then sleep.

There is always a new way for a load to get backed up. Arrive at my second pick in Waterloo at 1730... check in, drop trailer, take a 10hr break, wanted to do 8 but of course load was not ready, check back in a couple hours, check back, still kotnready, dld at 0900 check back right before them. One guard when I checked in, another over night, so now I go in again, third guard... "When did you get here?" Me "yesterday afternoon at around 1730" Guard "Nobody knew you were here" check back around noon.
Tyson load, already had an impossible third drop appt, now it has two more impossible appts.
