Strep throat

Tea, lots of it....halls so it doesn't hurt when you go to sleep. (so you can actually get sleep) Wallmart has a better selection of tea then truck stops. Get some honey to. See a doc when you get home for the week-end. If its bad enough, drop your trailer and see a doc ont he road....make sure to call your company first. They may be abel to help you get to a doctor on the road and can advise on dropping the trailer or not.

 

I seem to get strep once a year or so, very susceptible to it. One thing that bugs me is whenever I get it, I cough a lot. It's not deep coughing, but more like throat tickling coughing. Every #### time I go to a doctor they say "coughing is a sign it isn't strep". OK I've had it 10-15 times, I know exactly what it feels and looks like(white pockets on the upper part of your throat).

I got it a few months ago, and it seemed worse. Went to the doc right away for meds. Strep went away. Turns out I also had whooping cough, but didn't bother going back to get diagnosed because it's the same medication. Because I took it so early it only lasted about 45 days vs. the usual 100.

Go to the doc. Don't screw around. The biggest threat is actually Rhematic Fever, which is very serious.

24 hours after taking medication the strep is no longer contagious.

 

Youre going to need antibiotics.. Penicillin, amoxycillin..anything CILLIN...your going to have a fever, so plenty of fluids..

If you can't get any antibiotics, pump yourself up with Gatorade, keep flushing your ststem.. You need to break the fever..

one more thing, you male drivers, untreated strep throat can be like wearing a condom, it can also make you sterile.

Rheumatic fever is no joke, go get some antibiotics.

 

Dam Pete,hope you get better real soon.I had the flu while on the road once and all my company was worried about is loads and getting me on the next bus home and putting my dog in a kennel where I was at then picking her up later.Where is the common since with some of these companies.

 

Don't forget the lemon to go in the tea with honey.
