I believe Central was bought by Swift. Lol. Would you guys go to Swift?
-
Didn't know that I looked into them awhile ago for their school but they don't hire out of Md. for the school.
-
I find it hard to believe they're not hiring from Cali.
they ALWAYS hire from Cali.
Call again and try a different recruiter.
the central issue over hiring from one state vs another is getting the drivers home. We have a quota for FL for instance. When we're full, we don't hire. There is only so much freight into or out of FL.
But Cali? virtually unlimited. -
Completely off topic but oh well. Do Greyhound drivers get paid extra for being exceptionally rude? If so this guy is a millionaire. En route to Denver for school
-
Greyhound use to be a good company to drive for, but that was then and this is now. There are a lot of underpaid, overworked and poorly vetted persons driving for the dog these days.
Just like trucks.Curb Thanks this. -
I'm gonna be kinda bummed if Stevens really isn't hiring in California right now. I was looking forward to driving for you guys. Hell I even have one of your beautiful KWs in my rear view right now lol. Driver actually made room for me to merge.
-
.. And the driver just merged over when he saw me stopping behind a customer.. Why can't all truck drivers be this considerate lol. I have half a mind to call Stevens with his truck number and make him out like he is the greatest trucker on earth. Lol. Its the simple things us tow operators appreciate..

I remember that time in Hershey, PA picking up a loaded trailer. While doing the walk around I noticed no license plate on the trailer. That cost me some time...
Really, other than that I picked one up in Brawley that had a flat tire on a Sunday. That cost me a half a day.
Once I grabbed a load in Dinuba (?), CA and ran out of time. I pulled onto the side street and took my 10. I had 1/2 tank of fuel in the reefer. Woke up 5 hours later with reefer not running. Out of fuel. Stevens wasnt happy. Got yelled at by someone treating me like a 2 year old. Spent almost ALL day at Thermo King in Fresno before Stevens would clear me to leave even though TK was done with me within the first hour.
I guess that I was really lucky with the trailers that I picked up. I had to replace marker lights, etc but never anything major -
