Two licenses, two clocks, that leaves a lot of lost miles and money.

If you want to run your truck like a team operation with the trainee sure. I have met trainers that do both, some run it team, some run it with them always in the B seat. Your first post came of very critical that he was having his students do the driving and not running it like a team.

Students have to drive 15,000 miles before getting their own trucks, this was implemented back in January I believe that's why they're doing most of the driving now

I choose to view items that are discussed as just that, discussions (i.e.. Cameras, routing, fuel optimization) and not view them always as negative until I get the chance to see how/if they make my job better/easier. Visit with your dispatcher and find out why some of these things are being discussed. Too many out of route runs, running toll roads when not needed and improper fueling. If this was your company you would do the same. The problem is most don't treat is as their company. They are only out to get what they can get and then dont understand why/how companies can struggle when in fact, they are the problem causing the changes.

The average tenure of the ones posted here are less than 2 years and in some cases less than a year. Offering assistance, guidance and overall help to someone asking about employment with Millis is what made these threads great. But when someone asks questions and all they see is negative comments based on items that are "only in discussion" and not even active just doesn't make any sense to me.

My intent was not to offend you - but in some cases, that's my right also. I dont have to agree with your comments to be able to post on any thread. But I will say again, if you're unhappy with Millis - you have the options to change and I hope that you do. I couldnt imagine working somewhere I didnt like. I enjoy working here and know that if I project a positive attitude towards my job it benefits Millis and then me, related to more freight/opportunities. It's a very simple trickle down effect.

Now on to your comments - see below if you choose to read them.

You are correct you did and I guess my discontent with all the negative Ive read recently, I misjudged your post. I do apologize for that.

Recruitment bonus are a plus offered to all drivers. Yes, I have taken full advantage of those and will continue too as I see fit. You are entitled to your opinion as we all are and I'll respect yours provided I see the same in return. I was only referring to the negative comments regarding items not even in place yet. Complain about things 'actually" effecting drivers and most would see your comments as valid then.

This one actually made me laugh! Liberal, as defined "open to new behavior or opinions and willing to discard traditional values". I do tend to try to see all sides in most things, but I am not perfect at it. And thanks for watching the video's - I appreciate it! However, you did teach me something with this post, I did not know or understand how the "thank you" worked and always assumed it was based on a post count. I researched it and you're right, I was thanked over 400 times based on "informative" posts Ive made. However, wasnt aware that's where they came from. I appreciate the new information, I apologize for not thanking you sooner. Not sure what a "Pudo" is but I would be willing to bet it's not good.

Great point - Yes, I did loose my 2012 Third/Fourth Quarter and Year End Safety Bonus due to hitting a phone line at a customer in June of 2012. If you read my blog, you would know I made this screw up public. Not only there, but every student I have had since then is told about it. I use this mishap as a training tool for my students to show them, anyone can make a mistake and learn from my mistake(s). If in fact you've talked to my prior students, they will tell you. Which is where you most likely heard about it! I also detailed a "spilled" beer load several years ago - so my screw ups are perfect/painful ways to show my students "what not to do".

It's obvious you dont train. No disrespect, but if you have, you would understand that's part of the program. Student does 95% of the driving after 3rd week. But let's define that a little better. I do push the students harder maybe then some and I openly admit I am not perfect at it. Made many mistakes along the way. I dont team unless it's needed. I see too many students that teamed and then it's very clear they dont know how to do 80% of the "other" items like customer interaction, QC, trip planning and basic truck inspections. So if me not teaming or making my students do most of the work to teach them, then yes I am guilty as charged.

What made Millis great was the drivers here and the informative posts. I would be willing to bet most of you joined this company based on many of those posts by drivers currently here or even the ones that have moved on. With so many companies threads being just like this one, we've always been the "stand out" threads because we dealt with the negative amongst ourselves (internally) instead of in a public form. Im in truck 46119 and would be more than happy to talk/discuss or debate these things if we happen to run into each other one day.

I appreciate your candor and passion and I know this company is not perfect, nor am I and Ive made both very public.

When I read your post yesterday it didn't sit well. I'm sure I went a little overboard with my post but couldn't help it. I'll blame it on my up bringing.
I know you like to help people thinking of coming into the trucking industry but there's a lot of those that want to post their experience and it will paint a different picture.
There's room for all of us to post and not be judged by those with a different opinion.
I wont apologize for what I posted but I will wish you safe travels and the best of luck.

Hey Baritone, where and how do I find your blog? I would like to read it, since we can't get you to make more videos lol, just kidding. I do hope you use the ideas given to you soon though.

I want to personally thanks each and everyone of you for all of your post. Good and bad, negative and positive that actually do happen. Not that my opinion really matter since I am not a company driver yet, however, trucking reminds me of working in a plant somewhat. What I mean by that is, if someone talks about something they heard, even from upper management, positive or negative, doesn't always mean it will come into play. Rumors get started in plants way to easily and at times get lost in translation with the original. Maybe its just a scare tactic to get some of the guys to want to care about their job and the company. Maybe I just don't know what I'm talking about, it just reminded me of that. I do understand the company is letting it be known of future thoughts for the company for whatever reason brought it on.

Starting Monday at Millis school.Believe me baritone isn't worried about not having a student to train. Millis has more apps than they can handle. Would love to have Baritone as a trainer. God bless.
