3+ years. Good grief, you are hopeless.
If you would have been paying attention, NYVET did not make that comment to you. He had written a comment to the post above his and then changed it. As far as I have seen, he got in with the least amount of experience, at 7 years. However, he had an impeccable stable history. That is a far cry from 3+, so stop perpetuating that rumor. Yes they are having a hard time finding more drivers. However, they will never stoop to mid range qualifications to fill seats. They will just have the contract drivers fill in the blanks. You are getting desperate and reading more into things than what is there. You are embellishing and passing it off as the truth. Yes, you used to be helpful, now you are just trolling. What changed?? Maybe it is the lawsuit thing, but that is not my place to go.
Please show me one driver who was hired with only 3 years experience driving. One. Walmarts safety record is way too hard earned for them to go there. They have the most to lose of any company out there, because they are the money. They will not stoop to seat warmers due to the cost of lawsuits alone.
I can't believe that I am posting to one of your posts again. What is crystal clear to me is that you are bitter, and you obviously have the time to post plenty, so you feel you can influence people. The sad thing is, there are those who will take what you are saying as the truth. Yet, those of us who currently work here will be ignored since we can't post constantly. Oh yeah, that's right, I am still in my honeymoon period. Sorry, I forgot my place. BTW, I applied here 4 years before I got hired. The minimum requirements were the same. Nowhere did it say "Minimum of 20 years and 2 million safe miles." So stop with that also.
Cones at Little America for me and the son............. Yummm...............

drozzer69 is going to think his thread has gone off the rails. Its all good bro were just having a chat.
drozzer69 Thanks this. -
im just trying to make a better life for my daughter and I that's my main goal right now. I see that happening with walmart so im gonna do everything I can to get on there. when I look to the future the way this country is going we will be lucky if half these companies are even around anymore no matter their hiring standards. ive seen several ltl companies close up shop in my area and a lot of the big players lay off friends with 10 years plus in. the way I see it walmart is gonna be the last to go. no matter how bad things get people are always gonna shop at walmart. just my personal point of view.

You will be ignored because you offer very one sided information. I on the other hand have the benefit of being on both sides and with no dog in the fight and no loyalty to Walmart I can talk straight. Yes I am in court and yes Walmart will have to make things right but its business not personal so you can let that go. I could really care less who Walmart hires but if I can keep one person from making a big mistake then its all good. Anyone thinking of coming to Walmart deserves both sides of the story, dont you agree?
Sorry your so busy,I work for myself so my time is my own,did you happen to have a look at the post I put up showing what I could be doing with my truck at Apple? Tell me how many private fleet guys do you know that are pulling down 600+ a day to their trucks? Yes I know first hand how well the private fleet pays but are you banking 2500 a week and making your own schedule including where, when and how hard you run? So much for being bitter. If I get my job back I would really have to think hard about it,of course I would keep my trucks so I would be very comfortable.
What Im saying is the truth even if your choking on it,maybe that ice cream will help. Of course you could prove me wrong and offer up some facts but you wont. -
You've said that most of the fleet was older drivers then you have to know they will be retiring before to long and when you have 6500 tractors they will have to do some searching to find qualified drivers to fill the open spots. Just their bare minimum requirements eliminate probably 90% of truck drivers out there. I don't think a driver with 10 years and a million miles with a stable work history and excellent safety record is hurting the image. You said pay is great, schedule is great and the people treat you good so if to start filling the positions with a little younger yet still more than qualified group it may make it more elite because it will be longer before the drivers retire making less positions available. Long term
Buzzard2157 Thanks this. -
The arguement has great value,if your someone who might be thinking of coming over to the private fleet. Say someone that has spent years building an outstanding resume thinking that joining the private fleet would be their greatest achievment only to find they are sitting next to some tool in orientation that spent his last five years at Swift but now hes one of the elite. What a kick in the eggs that would be! You dont get the arguement because you dont get the point which maybe in 15 years you will. -

I am so on the fence about expanding and its for alot of the same reasons that Walmart has to deal with when they look at recruiting. I have screened a few drivers and Im not impressed,Im not looking for guys like us I just dont want mega carrier problem children which is what the pool is filled with. The best are working the rest are just not worth the risk. Putting drivers in trucks that can make or break my brand is not an easy decision. Just ask a few of these guys what the term work ethic means. Maybe Im stuck in limbo between being a successful company driver and potetially a very successful small fleet owner. I like to look to deep into the changes that are affecting this industry and the red flags are flying I dont care if you have 5 or 6500 trucks.
