Hey, I just ordered the air ride kit from 12 gauge and had a couple of questions, trying to plan ahead to minimize down time. did you need anything special to remove the springs? and what is needed to remove the second leaf from the spring? I haven't done it before and wasent sure if there is any special tools required. Also what kind of switch did you use I was thinking a cruise control switch assuming its a electric switch needed and not pneumatic
thanks

once you get the weight off the springs just remove the u bolts then there is a bolt in the center that holds the leaves together. the head is round so u may need vice grips to hold it while you take the nut off. once thats done u can just take the leaf out. make sure to put the bolt back in because it centers the spring with the axle. you may have to cut it shorter. its really pretty simple and straight forward.

You do not have to remove the entire leaf the seperate the two?
-
Doesn't the kit come with the controls?
-
Everything but the dash switch
-
You can buy a setup with switch, control and gauge.
Always wondered if those could be set up on a leveling valve? -
I built mine, and I have a leveler valve on it! In my opinion if it doesn't have a leveler valve, then it's just air assist!!Cetane+ Thanks this.

No special tools needed, pretty straight forward. Just going to remove the center bolt in the leafs to remove the second leaf and then cut the bolt down and re-use it. Getting the dowel pins out of the axle might be a pain. They will only be in there if your truck currently has blocks. Use a three position momentary electrical switch, up for airing up and down for exhausting. The kit and instructions are pretty good.
