Just picked up a 2008 386 with a cummins ISX. Noticed this fuel toggle on the dash and can't figure out what it is. The guys at the dealership didn't know either....any thoughts?

baha is correct R-L fuel gauge one nice feature you see quite a bit on pete's and rarely ever any other trucks, not something your use often but its nice in a case were you might notice your fuel gauge rising or dropping faster than it should you can check to see that your tanks are pulling equally and a suction line plugged or something causing it to pump all your fuel to one side or the other.

of course one truck i drove the right tank always read 1/4 tank less than the left tank even though they were in fact even.

Thanks for the replies - makes sense now why when I played with it it didn't appear to do anything. Any idea which is which (up for right side, down for left)?

    baha Thanks this.

Peterbilt had these on our trucks up until 2004, nothing for 2005-08, then showed up again in our new 2014 trucks.....a monitor for each tank. We have 70 gallons on the driver side and 50 on the other. My right/passenger side gauge is the only one that works. When I flip the switch to the driver side tank it reads full all day long.
