So I dropped my load in Hunnington In.They sent me to Burns Harbor In to pick up a coil.I get to this place and it is almost all automated you pick up a phone at the gate and the voice at the other end asks you a few questions then a little card pops out like at the toll booth. You take that card to the door that is printed on it you scan it at the quiosk there and it prints you out another card that you lay at the back of the trailer. The crane operater see the big print on the card from above drops the coil on your trailer .You tarp and secure go back to that quiosk sign your name on it .Then it prints your paperwork the door opens and you are on your way to the gate. You scale out scan your ticket and oila you never have to talk to a human being the whole thing is kind of strange.I am headed to Jackson Mississippi. So this load will get me to the house I should get home about 5 pm saturday this load has to be delivered by 10 am monday.Later
Have to start somewhere

Hey, yes I've heard of shippers and some receivers going to this all-automated system. Once you get the hang of it, it is actually pretty nice to never have to deal with "people" anymore! HA

K&J,
hi you guys. second post here. i am interested in who you drive for K&J, it sounds like it might be a good firm.
i have been following daytona's exploits from page one when i discovered this site and can feel his emotions running from elation to dispair to disgruntled(with maverick and dispatcher).
i am only on page 19 and can't wait to read how this story turns out in the next 12 pages.
i am 61 y.o. and am starting school on 3-10-08 if i can get 3 pre-hire notices from trucking firms. if i do then the state of michigan will pay for my training. got 1 pre-hire so far on the first day the faxes were sent out(fri). today is tu. so we will see how this goes. -

why did you go on your own with the training and not use Maverick's?
