Hang in there, bulk will be better for you. I got 3012 miles last week and most were short runs. So that was an extra 150 in load/unload pay. Really happy over here. There is no way I could ever drive van again.

Thanks buddy

Hsuaer, did you get caught walking on the hotel's grass in De Moines? I once did their orientation and left for the same reason as you. Schneider is more relaxed, they are only strict on safety and cost.

walking on the grass at the hotel? Holy crap were you in basic training?
-
no i didn't , i just hated the micro managed political BS .. But yeah the walking on the grass thing, there are signs posted , and there are rumors that if you walk on the grass you will get canned but no one tested it , the grass there is like PGA tour fairway grass lol. But I am looking forward to my adventure with the big Orange! heading to Charlotte tomorrow! should be fun , and i know if i can make it through TMCs BS orientation this should be a breeze. just hope i get the miles i need to support my family
You guys been getting the 2500 or so miles promised? Thanks and take care!
-
so when I signed onto schneider I was told .28 cents a mile, but I guess they changed the payscale. It's now .30 a mile for new drivers!
The new payscale is .30 starting, .32 at 6 months, but still .34 at 1 year :\
It's pretty cool getting a raise 2 weeks into training though! -
Am I wrong or unreasonable in believing that if my assigned tractor is used for another driver while I have some limited time off that it be parked on the same customer property that I parked it at and not 10 miles away at Obetz? Where it eats up some of my 11/14/70 in shuttling back and forth in order to do my work?
-
When i was at sni my tractor got loaned out on hometime and this fool smoked in it with the windows rolled up and spilled a sugary soda all over the floor and didnt bother to clean it, slept on my just washed sleeping bag as well, needless to say my home away from home felt desecrated

Sorry, I ran out of hours and couldn't get it back to JCP(he he he he) I kid I kid.
-
Yes you are being completely unreasonable. Think of the poor driver who needed to use your truck. Broke down, had to catch a cab over to JCP with all his stuff. All the stress is aggravating his spastic colon and making him super gassy and he forgot his portable toilet to boot. Why should that guy have to inconvenience himself? You're dedicated which means you're home all the time. His time is much more important than your time.
