I drive for western, Yes there starting pay Is low, I average about 3200 mile a week, sometimes less sometime more, thats the industry, My average take home pay is about $800.00, For me Thats plenty, I've been drivng trucks for about 25 years, and have paid off must I own, i was an OO for many years, and now just want to coast the last 10 years or so, I have left to drive, there equipment is top of the line and kept up, 550 cummins, 18 speeds, full gauge packages, Drive an OO truck with out having to fork the bill, the longer your with the company, the better the pay gets, they dish out a lot of money for these trucks, they start you out with little pay, make sure your going to stick around and do a good job, It is hard to get on, they are anal about the drivers being professional, keeping your recond clean, but lacked on others, some one said that the drivers dont get home much!, Not true, I'm home about every 2-3 weeks, some drivers here have been out for a long time but thats there chose
