Been away for a while with my leather shop, but things wrap up there next week.

Has there been any news on what kind of MPGs the autos are getting, any issue they've been having and if more are coming?

Running regional in the Oklahoma Arkansas area to get a little revenue up before heading home for the weekend. Currently loading a Phoenix load in Van Buren Ar, to be dropped on the yard in Sapulpa.

Just wanted to drop a quick line and say thanks for all yhe good info Sharpp. JCT sounds like they got it together with their lease. I wish I would have had terms like yours when I did the L/P at Knight. Would have made finishing alot easier than it was!

Even though I'm not on the lease at JCT I wanted to share a little of my experiences with L/P here. An O/O told me years ago when fuel hit $2.00 per gallon (wish we had that problem again right? ) that you can't control what the truck stops charge for fuel, but you can control how much fuel you use. Words to live by if you ask me.

The other thing is fuel cost/consumption is 50% or more of a L/O's gross income we all know this. Watching your speed, idle time, and driving efficiently are only part of the equation. Your truck as a whole must remain efficient. What I mean by that is preventative maintenance should be looked at more than keeping your truck out of the shop or off the shoulder of the interstate. It should be looked at as the better your truck is running, the lower your fuel cost will be. Things like tire pressure, air cleaners, fluid in the transmission and differentials all effect fuel mileage to a certain extent. The better the truck "breaths" and the less power loss through under inflated tires and trans and diff fluid that is beyond it's service life, the less power (read fuel) it takes to get down the road. I changed the air filter every 6 months and the fluids in the trans and diffs every 12 months. Way more often than the manufacturer recomends I know.

Don't get me wrong, not saying anyone is wrong for doing it otherwise, just wanted to impart some of the knowledge I gained while completing my lease. Hell, Sharpp I've been wanting to move down to Austin TX for awhile, after reading this thread I'm thinking I just might start seriously looking for a place after the holidays and then give JCT a call. Getting the bug to do it again because this sounds way easier than I had it!

Welcome West! You have some good words to live by, although with the way our fuel surcharge is set up, we net more profit with higher fuel prices (as long as we're getting solid MPGs!). One reason that I started this thread was to provide the info that is so hard to get from most companies. I've looked over some other leasing companies on TTR. Not many threads give out much detail on their leases or net profits.

Indeed, the new lease at JCT is a real plus! The combination of good miles and a decent lease payment keeps me pretty happy, lol.
