Very interesting how things vary by location. One of the men that finished schooling and received his CDL right along with me, spoke to a Select supervisor that said they (I assume at his location) had decided not to hire any more fresh graduates.

Hello everyone I'm 84kangaroo
I am a new member and glad to be around you great folks, I'm not familiar with this media and others like it such as FB, Twitter, etc. Quite lost so please bear with me. What I do know is there is a great deal of magnificent brainpower going on here a bit intimidating. Although I've had my CDL I only driven in the US for the last 6mos / reefer. 1 1/2 overseas / oil tanker in 2003-2004, big gap in between. So I'm having difficulty finding work for rookies in the texas oil patches. I have a tanker endorsement. Let my haz go back in 2011 because time to renew and didn't think I was ever going to drive again(dumb mistake). Any how got a message to reply to entry level driver jobs in midland/odessa and I don't see where I was replied to. Oh well if any of you out there can respond with info or job offer ready to pounce on it, thanks Gobd bless and be safe on the road.
P.S.
would work anywhere in Texas preferably with a company that will help with housing (because I went broke driving OTR with a frozen food company, if it weren't for a little pride thing I literally can apply for food stamps while driving for them, seriouly no joke. But it doesn't even sound right, truck driver on foodstamps, wow.) if not I'm a roughneck I'll manage, just need to get my foot in the door. Somebody, anybody please help I will greatly appreciate it. -
Ate you in texas now?
-
Thanks Oregon Grown for responding, I was up working all day and night the night before and fell asleep yesterday at 6pm Ididn't see you had contact me. Yes I am in central texas now and can go north, south, east or west Texas.
