winter is approaching and i am getting some water in my wet tank so i know my air dryer needs to be serviced soon. however i am not familiar with the air dryer on this truck, never had a truck with this style on it so i was going to have a shop do it while i was in for a oil change and the guy that was there at the time was not familiar with my air dryer aether. so i figure i might as well get fimilar with my air dryer and service it myself. im not sure if this air dryer is orrigional to the truck or if its one someone put on at some other time ect. so i need to find out what kind of air dryer i have

make sure you have exhausted ALL the air before removing the end. I have never seen one like that, might be cheaper/easier to put plain old bendix on it.

Pretty sure what you have in the pics isn't factory, might want to go the Truck manufacturer with VIN to see what it started with.Cetane+ and Ezrider_48501 Thank this. -
Is that held to that bracket with bungees? Doesn't look like OEM install.
A Bendix AD-9 comes with all the mounting brackets. All you do is plumb the in/out/signal lines and run a wire for the heater.Ezrider_48501 Thanks this. -
at was originally bolted with brackets to the underside of the bracket its sitting n now. after almost ripping it off i flipped it to the top side but the straps around it that bolt to the bracket are a little fubar after dragging the air dryer so the bungees are just to keep it from vibrating inside the brackets for now till i do something different with it.

i was thinking a bit along that line too. just slapping a complete new setup on there but seems like kinda a waste if all this one needs is a new filter. i guess it depends on what it takes to service this darn thing
and funny you say about exausting the air becouse it actually says that on the cover almost word for word...lol -

anyone ever buy anything from this place?
any reason to not use a aftermarket ad-9?
edit:
while serching replacement dryers i happened across the dryer on my truck its a
[h=2]Haldex KN33000 Air Dryer[/h] -
In about 20 years I have never seen a dryer like that! Weird! It seems to be pricey compared to an AD-9. Haldex does make some good stuff. But, I don't like dealing with odd-ball stuff. If that model is popular where you live and work and people have the parts readily available, then go with that. If it were me, I would install an AD-9. They are tried and true. Everyone, everywhere has parts! AD-9 aren't that expensive either.
Ezrider_48501 Thanks this. -
that's kinda my thoughts as well at this point. after i i figured out what i had for a air dryer i found service kits for it and the service kit is $80 and i still have a oddball that no one knows anything about, im thinking i might be better off just putting a ad-9 on

The air dryer does not have any oil in it, wheres the oil coming from? When is the last time the compressor was changed?

this one is very simple, easy to change cartrige, requires no purge tank.
