That's why you have to track your numbers, watch the fuel consumption, buy the cheapest fuel, run the routes where it makes sense to NOT pay the TOLL ROAD highway robbery fees... in other words RUN YOUR BUSINESS. The majority of lease operators don't even bother to read their settlements... how can you run a profitable business if you're on autopilot???
If you're smart about it, it's $1400 a week. If you're dumb about it, and you're on autopilot... the company guys make more money than you do. Pay attention... read the lease thread! You cannot be successful without doing the hard work!!

If I made only $800 a week, I would trade my CDL for chewing gum, lol. Nothing under $1000 is even acceptable.
Chucktaylor Thanks this. -
Ok. are you talking about net(bring home after taxes) or gross before taxes and all the other crap. If your talking about netting 1000 a week consistantly, then your in the wrong business. The only guys I know of that bring home that much are high seniority Union LTL line haul drivers.
-
Ohh and maybe a few of the prime L/O. but I doubt that 1000 a week net is consistant
falcon71 Thanks this. -
It is... my average take is well over that, and consistent.
-
Just pulled my last settlement from 11/2011 when I ended my last lease ended. My average net was a little over $1400 a week.
-
So you're taking home .70/mile as a company driver. I find that hard to believe.
-
You don't know what his dedicated deal is. So why the disbelief.
It's been a couple years, but I met some NE dedicated guys who's deal is $1k after taxes and benefits. $1k net garaunteed whether they ran as many loads as their clock allowed or sat most of the week and did a couple of loads. $1400 isn't out of the realm of possibility.
I met three of them and each one got through their house at least once a week for a 10 break, and took their hometime every 3 weeks like the rest of us Company Drivers.
One guy was home almost every other day for a 10 break. He lived in the same town as the plant. -
Sazook was a lease operator when he was at Prime.

Ok. but like i stated. your net that "is well over that". Is that what you pay yourself from your net pay after paying taxes, health insurance, etc...I was talking about actual bring home, personal money. Money not associated with your business in your case. That's all I was trying to tell the other guy too. I wasn't sure what exactly he was talking about when he said "Nothing under $1000 is even acceptable". If he was talking about being a lease operator and actually being able to pay himself that much, or being a company driver and bringing home that much after taxes and insurance, etc... thats what i was talking about
