Smokers have as much of right to smoke up the air as a non smoker has to not breathe it.

I live in Canada so things are a bit different here - much fewer companies, for one thing. It's very hard to get anyone to respect the non-smoking "rules" in the trucking industry unless your company promotes it. A lot of companies will try to keep smokers together and non-smokers together during training and/or if they have to share a truck. All you can do is ask around - go to truck stops and ask the different drivers what their experience is like, etc., and see what you can find out.

I can't function if I get a migraine and being in close quarters with a smoker gives me one. As long as you're outside and so am I, I don't care if you smoke or not. I just don't think it's fair in a closed environment. If you're going to allow your smokers to smoke in their trucks, make an effort to keep the smokers together and the non-smokers together.

If you can't do that, at least be considerate enough to crack the window when you smoke so it's not so "close" inside the truck.

I have no problem with smokers. I have a problem with rude, inconsiderate people who smoke. They blow smoke in your face, they smoke around children, etc. There's no need to be rude about it. Consideration goes a long ways.

It is about as dumb as the goc telling people that they can not allow smoking in a building they own and pay taxes on. It does not matter what the building is, the gov should not be allowed to ban you from allowing smoking in your own building no matter what the building is.

Same for trucks, the gov does not own the trucks, they can not tell the owners that they have to ban smoking in their trucks.

If the people don't want to be in a truck with a smoker then don't get in. Same for any establishment. If they don't want to go into an establishment that allows smoking then don't. it is their choice.

Every business owner should post a sign, smoking allowed or no smoking.

You don't want smoking in a truck then go buy one yourself. Problem solved.
