I hope I am repeating something here, but I am unable to find the answers to it, and the only person I know at Prime where I am supposed to go Sunday, is the recruiter. I was diagnosed last year with high blood pressure. The doctor put me on 2 medicatons, that I have been taking for over a year now, with no side effects, expect the control of my bp. When my bp is checked now, it is will within the standards as they should be.

    The meds are:
    Lisinopril
    Hydrochlorothiazid

Has anybody heard it these are going to create and issue or not. I would hate to waste a trip to Sringfield, just to be sent back.

    Thanks

I am on those very same Meds. the only thing that it will do is you will only get a one year on your DOT card.If your BP is in check there should be no worries.

Lisinopril and HCTZ are common medications. As stated above, your DOT physical will need to be repeated in a year. The medications themselves should not be a problem. And good for you for getting the high blood pressure treated and for staying on the meds.

Would encourage you to take a look at your diet which is what is creating your high BP in the first place. The medications are only going to mask the symptoms (your high BP) but will not correct the underlying problem. In addition, you may not necessarily notice any potential side effects going on but it is highly likely that they are happening; you just don't "feel" them. Your body is very capable of healing itself, it just needs the tools to do so. Your body will recognize and be able to utilize natural foods and herbs but can only respond to chemicals. Your liver will be called upon each time you take your meds to try and rid your body of those toxins. Better to do some research and find out what you are eating that is not helping you. I have found that lildaddy and Cybergal are pretty good sources of info if you want to stay on this blog. Also, never quit meds cold turkey. Instead, make your life style changes then ask your doctor to reduce your dose. Then if your blood pressure stays low ask to have the dose reduced even more. That way you can be weaned off the meds and be a much healthier person, too.

    Cybergal and IRISHGYPSY Thank this.

What has worked for me with no side effects and isn't meds......

Cut down on the caffeine, salt/sodium as much as possible, and go to Walgreens and get AmealBP. Its a natural BP med and you can take it on an empty stomach etc etc and you cannot feel that you are on any thing at all.

My DR put me on a low dose of some kind of BP meds. It made the problem worse by about 10 points over and under, and made me really sick. Then a friend told me about Ameal. I quit the prescribed meds and started taking the Ameal. With in 6 days the Ameal had dropped the BP and now about 2 months later I should be able to pass a 2 yr physical.

Well I discovered that I had high BP only after I went for my first DOT physical. I haven't bee to a doctor in 8 years. But he gave me some samples of Bystolic and brought it down pretty quick. My big problem is that I have a problem going to a doctors office (called white coat syndrome) and it makes my BP go up. I'll go to the drug store and be fine, go to the docs office and be high. Any advice for that?

The Doc gave me samples in the office. Guess I'd phone around. I know that my Mother-in-law uses it also.
