What yard did you end up at?

 

Just remember after 3 months of free rent in the trailer you will have to find your on place to live.And if you don't work the full 3 months they can charge you rent.,just read everything you sign. I use to work for Nabors out of Iraan TX,and I sometimes haul brine water from Iraan to Sonora.Sonora yard has one of the biggest turn a rounds on drivers.Before my 3 months were up,I move out of the trailer because I didn't like having a room mate(s) that I didn't know,so I move to a old motel in Sheffield.Try to get 6 months driving the vacuum truck,then it be easier to get a better paying oilfield job.

 

I don't work for Nabors anymore.I work for J&M Tank lines out of Marble Falls Tx.Does Nabors still start at $15.50 a hour or have they went up? I forgot the trainers name in Sonora,if he is still there,but a few years ago he was training a women and while they were going up a step hill on a oil lease the truck stall and she panic.She put the clutch in and they roll backwards it cause the truck to jack knife and finally when it stop the truck was nose up in the air. He told me the next day she pack up and move out.They should have a picture of it on their wall.Where did you have to go for your H2s class? I went to Odessa for mine,not to bad since they feed you for free.When Sonora gets low on brine water you should ask if you can go the Iraan to pick it up.It's a easy run,you just stay on I 10 all the way till you get to the Iraan and Sheffield exit.It's a 150 mile turn around.Just make sure to get only about 80 blls of brine because of the weight.DPS are most of the time around Ozona waiting to weigh a truck.Fresh water you can get 120 blls and be under weight. Drilling mud about 60 blls,but you have to take it to a place that take mud.Good Luck in Sonora.

 

Yea its still $15.50 an hour. I'm in Ozona. But all trainee's can only get 40 hours a week til out of training. All the people I have worked with so far have been great. Just wish I could get more hours. I wonder if that 40 hour rule is just that yard or is it all of them

 

When I was in training in Iraan I was getting 80+,but start driving had to go by DOT.Each yard manager have their own rules.I been on jobs that I didn't do nothing for days.Alot of sleep time!!! Are you going to stay in Ozona or going to Sonora? I use to help Ozona yard out alot,with hauling water to frac ponds.There is a alot of places to get fresh water around there. Do you know if James B still the safety manager for Nabors? He use to take me to lunch when he use to pick me up to go to the doctor in Odessa. If a boss ever mess with you just call headquarters,they will take care of it. I got Todd M a truck driver supervisor fired because he wouldn't leave me alone.If you ever go to Iraan ask them how glad they are that he's not working there.

 

I have 18 mos. exper. from back in 2008, I am running into a road block with "REQUIRED 2 YRS EXPER. VERIFIABLE"... is this a request or a demand? Also, will water & sand companies hire me quicker
with a CDL and past exper???

The reason I ask it this way is that I have heard that some will place this in the ad per the company requirements, but they will take on less than "required" exper. I don't know who will, thus I am asking does anyone know who is hiring the 18 mo. experienced???

 

Well, required would indicate its a demand and not a preferability.

 

I have a friend that owns a trucking company in N. Dakota hauling crude and he can not give me a job without 2 yrs experience due to his insurance.
