    Good morning TTR forum,
I'm SemperP, (for Semper Paratus, retired from 20 yrs active duty US Coast Guard on 9/1/2013).
Nine days later, I was sitting in cdl class at the county career tech school, courtesy of Uncle Sam and the GI Bill. I seem to have taken to it naturally, as the instructors were surprised that I caught on to shifting, backing/spatial judgment, etc., rather quickly. Guess they're used to more bangin and grinding than I gave them, haha. Got to move some heavy equipment between campuses for the school's heavy equipment course, too...learned how to use the lowboy trailer and about securing equipment with the chains and binders. Overall, I thought they gave an excellent introductory education! The CDL school manager was asked by a local fuel delivery company if he had two students he could recommend. So, one day in the end of week 3, another student and I were called to the managers office, handed an application, and told ,"we're looking for a couple of students to represent what this school can produce. It's local work, and they're an excellent company. Are you interested?" Oh heck yeah, I am! So just this past Monday at 0700 I took and passed my road test, and at 1400 put on a shirt and tie for a resoundingly successful job interview! All I'm waiting for now is the final word on the Hazmat background check, and I can get my hazmat endorsement and begin training!
I've read through a lot of posts here, and am glad to see its a respectful community and a well moderated forum...I hope to have time to catch up with you all in future threads!
    Stay safe!
