BTC Flat "Builders Transportation Company" out of Memphis TN are they a good company? I am interested in Maverick also but I like the fact that with BTC I would be able to have a passenger and with Maverick I would not be allowed to.

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Haven't dealt with them, or seen a lot of them in quite a while. At one time, maybe 10-12 years ago, they had a strong reputation for being a low dollar hauler. I can't say if that still applies to them or not. I know they haul a lot of building materials and lumber, and some of those loads are kind of low paying. They don't run much up here along the I-80 corridor, so they must be concentrating on routes further south. Most times I see them, I am down south out of my normal running area.
You need to find out if they are paying mileage or percentage. If percentage, and they are hauling cheaply, then they are paying cheaply as well. if they are paying by the mile, then the usual questions about rates and the amount of miles comes into play. -
On their website it says they pay by the mile. I think it says for someone just getting their CDL the pay is either 35 or 37 cents a mile for the first year and some kind of bonus. Start out a little more than that if you have experience.

Anybody know any more pertinent info about BTC? What is their equipment like?
-
Super 10 speeds mercedes benz engine. I think what they have were the same as the test out trucks for the CDL when I was in CDL school. I've got a blog on BTC here.

My Boyfriend worked for them for 6 months. at 1st they were GREAT. but then they started giving him crappy loads that they KNEW he would have to run illegle to make on time and they would forget he was sitting empty. His dispatcher was a jerk a lot too. Maverick is run like the military from what all the people we heard say about it! Roehl seems like a pretty great company with great home time! Good luck finding the right company is hard!

who was his btc dispatcher?

Hey YBFJAX how are you liking it at BTC? How many miles and what are the average miles per run? I am starting my CDL school next week and looking at Builders. Lots of good info on your btc blog. Thanks.
-
Depends on how you want to run. U can get 3000 if you want to run them. But I usually avg about 21-2500. I don't try to kill myself out here. They just started a new program that enables you to get $100+ safety at the scale houses just for getting an inspection. There are no limits.
I'm really preparing a lengthy update and I'm in the middle of several projects right now. So we'll see by next week or so what's up. -
Does anyone have any more info on BTC flatbed? I've enquired/applied via their wesite, but you only get the good stuff on a company site.... Haven't heard anything bad, per-say, except what was posted above by a girlfriend of the driver.
