I may refuse a load or pickup because I know 3/4 of my clock will be burnt up once I enter the gate, but I will NEVER refuse a load because I know the shipper or receiver may have a few "difficult docks". Like a a previous responder said, you have to develop your skills and look for and appreciate challenges that serve to sharpen your skills and confidence even further.

I will take a load to Hell if you put enough money on it. Lonesome told you right. The goal isn't to get in an out without incident, the goal is to be good at what you do. What's the difference? You can be a one minute wonder with your girl and leave her wondering if that's it, or you can actually be good at what you do and straighten her toes. Try again...this time look for a challenge, instead of acting like a candy.

ya but you guys are talking to a guy with less than 1 year. most of you guys did otr your first year. you barely back in otr. because your runs are like 1,500+ miles. me being local in a big city like chicago. well i back a lot. like 4 + or more a day. i did like 30 backs in a day before. but the times its just too tight ya then it worries me. and the google thing i knew i had to blind side it. but my dad looked it up to see what i was complaining about. but you guys have experience. go back to year 1 and i bet you guys werent any better than i am at my current state. but i do agree i should man up. but i hate that #### 53 foot trl. i wish i can do like a 20 foot trl with a day cab.

How are you going to refuse a load because of a bad dock, when you won't see the dock, until you get there? How do you know it's bad beforehand?

Everything takes times and its ok to be scared. But with practice comes better backing and driving in big cities like Chicago,New York City,Los Angelous ect. You'll get the joy of driving and maybe delivering there.Whether back or making a tight turn, you can't be absolute petrified or sweety sadly you're an accident waiting to happen.Alot of accidents occur because ppl are too scared and try way too hard. You need to loosen up relax. So what if you can't get it the first time, juat relax and try again.Don't let ppl bother you, they can wait.

As wanna be driver wanting to get into this industry, I find that these few pages kinda eased my mind about backing up and asking for help and who cares if you inconvenience them, its your job to deliver on time and accident free. Well I hope to join you guys and gals on the road soon. Be safe
