I have a 07 VNL64T with around 330,XXX miles on it. I was doing brakes this weekend and it feels like there is an excessive amount of end play in my power divider. Everything seems to be working properly except the PDLO will blow air out the vent on the axle if i try to engage it. Leaving me to believe that seal on the air piston is blown. But its not critical for me because I rarely need it so i just don't use it.
My mechanic recently pointed out there is an oil filter on the power divdider itself. It was dated 12/12 so it had been changed right before i bought the truck. I'm wondering what the service intervals are for these axles? How often does this filter need to be changed and how often does the oil need to be changed? What type of oil do these axles use? Is it 75-90 synthetic like Eatons? I know Eaton's get changed every 5/500K but I'm not familiar with Meritors. Any suggestions would be helpful and if anyone can give me a link to a meritor service manual that be awesome!
Thanks
Meritor axles service intervals?

after 1st change 250,000 is rec. fix for power div. is cheap, if you are stuck with wheel spin.

Actually I'd like to fix the power divider if I could but it looks like I have to remove the carrier. What is the fix?

I finally got around to serving the differentials and it doesn't look good. The oil in the power divider came out like mud and had a lot of metal in it. Changed the filter and put in fresh oil and a bottle of Lucas stabilizer but I think it's headed for a bearing failure. I also got around to fixing my temp sensors and the power divider runs around 170 while the rear driver runs around 145. In truth I've only had eatons before and they always ran the exact same temp. So do I have a looming problem here or is this how they are?

low mileage to have this kind of problems; on mine the rear box shows always 10-20 degrees lower oil temp ;

Can you tell me what your average temps are?
