To those that run a fleet under their authority, I would like to know if you prefer having company drivers or owner ops run freight for you. If you have a preference, could you please elaborate as to why you prefer one over the other? Thanks.

I don't own a fleet, but if I were I would not have company trucks. It would be owners only, with they're own trailers. This way you don't have to worry about someone tearing up your equipment, or abandoning it. There would also be a higher profit margin in it without owning all the equipment.

I make more with company drivers than O/O's by just over 22%(net) If I didn't have company trucks I would never have been able to get many of the accounts I have. O/O's are good to have after I have the accounts but not to get them. Too many I don't do(whatever)

Owner Operators will work better because they also have a business to run, but company trucks are good to have because as was mentioned earlier, they help with getting accounts.

With safety scores and csa bs i dont plan on adding any trucks on unless i know an o/o well enough to trust them and they have their own equipment. my requirements would be so strict i almost wouldnt hire myself.
