We get the tire replaced inally late yesterday afteroon early evenng. I ask the tire guy,What took you so long to get here?
Well it seems the Petro did not want to pay over time for day shift guy, I had to wait or the afternoon guy to start.
So we find a parking area on hwy 550 and call it a day as it was getting dark.Get up this morning and go 9 miles down the road and we see a trkstp.. Sure would of been nice to know that, nothing on the gps or my trkstp book..
Ok coffee and bathroom time.
Take off and get to Cortez, Co. scale.
Hi sir I'm oficer so and so and I'm going to do a level 3 insp.. Ok pass no problem, but you're 150 pounds over on your drive aaxle weights.. Just a verbal warning. Thank you.
Off we go. Hit the scale in Ut.
Park and bring in papers, Ok no biggie.
They meet me outside. Here's my permit. Ok where are you going.
Trying to get to Vegas I say. They say where did you pick this up at.? Ok. I say. Why this way? Well being 13' wide and Az. rte issues here we are. Where's your pilot. No need untill Cedar City I say per this lady in your permit office.
Well let's measure.. They come up 12' 6". Why did you permit for 13' I say look up at step.
So they measure and come up with 3 different sizes.
Ok plumb bob on a stick. Well way up on the top is a flange on the dump body...14' wide..
I'm like huh??
Re measure and yep 14 wide. Great I'm in deep doo doo now..

Another level 3, but a warning for to narrow permit. No ticket for not having pilot.
So now trying to get a pilot car gets worse.
Office calls broker who lined up the car for Cedar city part. Finds a car and the car wants to back door the broker.
Office say no way.
So he bails. Pilot car broker won't return calls. I call an old friend of mine, Her and her better half are in Houston. Great, she makes some calls.
Will have a pilot here in the am..
So if somebody hurries you can get this ld. and pilot will be ready at 7am
