Does anyone have any experience with them in the bulk division? I have heard bulk can sometimes be long hrs and little pay. Is there much truth to that?

There's plenty of truth to bulk being ridiculous hours for little pay, but I can't say for sure if that applies to Evergreen. With bulk you can have your good days, but there are more long stressful days involved than in most aspects of trucking.

yes i got hired on at evergreen and i have to ride with a trainer for a week because i have never done bulk, and today they did not have a load for my trainer, seems like they have to many drivers and not enough loads and from what i have gathered they do not pay that good either on most loads but they also do flatbed and dump trailers, they give a 2000 dollar sign on bonus but you get 100 the first week then 250 after a month and then at 6 months and a year you get the rest,i thought that was bs.i am going to hang in there with it a while and see how it is after a month,i might be going back to flatbed if i can not make a decent check.

evergreen has good equipment and really good people but the pay sucked, they had me hauling ash from the power plants in leroy al,pensacol fl and gulfport ms and they pay like 50 to 60 dollars a load and you have to wait to get loaded and wait to pump off so your looking at 12 hours for 120 dollars now the cement and cement spread loads pay better but they dont have enough of those loads to go around so i made 600 before tax two weeks in a row working six days a week so i quit and they took fifty dollars out of my check for the physical so in a nut shell they dont pay worth a #### for the hours you have to work. i went back to ltl with vitran and now they sold out to central transport the worst company in the us so when they merge im out of there and will probably go otr flatbed.

I looked back on my previous posts and you were open to advice so I won't give you the "I told you so". Bulk cement/lime/ash trucking sucks for the most part, very rarely do you get a day where everything goes perfect, example: You get loaded without having to wait on 10 trucks, while loading the silo operates correctly and doesn't take an hour, you don't get hung up in traffic, and once you make it to the plant those same 10 trucks aren't in front of you waiting to blow off in 1 available hose.......Those days are few and far between, therefore the general analysis of bulk tank trucking is it's a rough way to make a living.
