my pal landstar confuses self respect
    and outsized ego with pomposity

it matters not what the company does to you
until you bring them back the truck in the condition you received it in

that is how grown ups for generations developed respect
    that is lost today
I gave 2 weeks notice to Transam 2 weeks ago
Monday I was brought to the yard when the notice didn't end until noon yesterday
I sat in the yard for 3 days available to do the job I said I would do
but my image of myself and the one in the mirror match

gp100- do yourself a favor. calm down, and write all that you said from the first day you have been sitting. out of bread, stressed out, no help, no info. make sure you write down times and dates, every minute. this has helped greatly, for a friend of mine, and his lawyer. its a small safety net that has worked, no s--t! then they probably are getting under bid on loads. which that happens. since the crash of 2008 it has gotten bad in trucking. and then with the csa program. it has gotten even worse. now that they are letting mexican trucker in the country. it has gotten really horrible. mexican drivers work for .10 cpm. the mexican owner ops work for .30 cpm so they can do alot of under bidding to take work from americans. and then you have major fleets that bid loads for 1.60 a mile or less. so it is bad.

Saw that in his other posts....gave him a bonus on fuel card then called it cash advance and hooked him for a $20 fee? They got cash flow problems. Stuff the tanks driver!!!

Got any friends around the terminal?? Have one do a quick recon and make sure the place it still open. Dispatcher could be answering from OOMA at his house for all you know.....

    I smell a rat......

MAKE SURE YOUR FUEL TANKS ARE FULL! Hate to see you get some miles down the road, and find the fuel card shut off!

Do what ya feel is right, but be prepared to face the consequences.

I've been in this situation B/4, and it SUCKS ! Maybe they just want you to go away, or, things may not be going well back at the shop, like short on planners, or major shut down on the systems used for dispatch. Company money problems, an in house strike, could go on, but you get the point. Thing is, why is a contingency plan not in place, even if it means that they might want you to bail for whatever reason. This IMO, is not fair to any driver. I feel that it should be a law against it, or additional pay with some explanation. Might even be a law against it, but it still happens. Other than that, Chinatown has you covered. My third day of waiting (a long time ago) I drove the truck to another trucking company close by, all of a sudden my company is calling me with a load, and asking why RU in their yard. It still might work, but it is risky. Check company rules well B/4 DOING ANYTHING RISKY !!! Good Luck

Six days????????????????/ That's nuts.I understand your frustration believe me I do.I had to sit in NM for a week. But leaving anywhere on your own free will will cause a tarnished DAC as well as you having to pay for fuel. You waited this long might as well wait some more.If no load yet you probably won't get a load till Monday.

Don't want to start nothing, but have to vent here at home. UPS is like a push up bra, says it's better but don't improve anything. I paid to have emails, they don't know how to operate a few buttons. I have to pick up my parts at their warehouse. 57.00 a month for a phone, emails to keep my trucking co alive. 8.00 to tell me parts are here. UPS can find another patsy. They dropped the ball too many times. We have a new driver. Yea, right.
