It's a good solid 4 lane road. It's part of the future I-69 corridor so the bypasses are being cobbled together for the eventual upgrade to Interstate standards. There's a few traffic signals along the way but you can keep up a good pace.
albert l Thanks this. -
That's good to know PackRat, got 580 miles to go tomorrow but driving a Prime truck that can only do 60 at the most so I will be pushing it in my 11 hours ... lol

Well if time starts running short you can always grab a spot at the Love's in Cleveland. About the only truckstop close to Houston on 59.

When i dought, go slow and get out and look with your hazards on. I made it under a 13'5 once but bairly. It was the only way to the shipper...so i dropped my truck air, got half way through. I then pulled my trailer brakes, waited for them to fully dump the suspension. I then turned then pushed int he red nob and knew i had 10 sec to go before it got to full suspension height. I made it with about 8 sec to spare. but, there is no substitute to carefully looking, and as another poster said, train weight does change the height.

Theres a Flying J in New Caney as well

There was another one but I noticed it's boarded up. They had idle air. Coincidence?
-
If its air ride it wont be unless the leveling valve is broken. If it is you better get it fixed or your trailer will bonce all over the place
-
Not true, I pull open deck freight, and when I am empty both the truck and the trailer sit higher than when loaded.

Good advice....because you have to "exit" U.S.59 to "stay on" U.S.59 ATLEAST 5 or 6 times. If you were to continue straight ahead, you would be on business routes. That highway sucks for that---basically the opposite of what you'd think you should be doing. The by-passes are the highway.....and the highway becomes the business route.
