I am adding the old style canister f/w separator on my 04 379 pete. I have a Fuel filter fitting( fuel filter vac guage) that hooks in to the filter base lines, which side of the filter base does the fitting go. TY

    Good Morning SP:
If i understand the question... the gauge will install on the "out" side of filter. This allows gauge to "see" filter restriction...

It should go on the outlet side of the filter to measure the restriction of the filter.

The filter should be installed between the fuel tanks and the fuel pump. The gauge should be on the fuel pump side of the filter.
