You have nothing to worry about it if has been 8-10 months, even if you smoked 2 entire joints. You could have probably smoked 2 oz and not come up after that much time as they normally only check the most resent 1or 1 1/2 of growth which is about 3 months of hair growth.

Just get a short hair cut and stop sweating it.
