I don't want to work for a company that goes around running into stuff. It could reflect poorly on me to be associated with that kind of outfit.
But seriously, I think this thread was 5 months old and now u brought it back.
I sure hope Walmart trains there drivers to read the bridge signs.

Just to clarify, Walmart is the largest PRIVATE, not-for-profit transportation company, but definitely not the largest trucking company. For perspective, JB Hunt has 15,000 trucks, 200,000 rail containers, 50,000 chassis FOR the containers, and if I'm not mistaken, over 50,000 road trailers. Schneider and Swift are similar in size, but what sets Walmart apart from everyone else is the way they treat (including compensation and benefits) their drivers and they only haul for themselves, hence 'private fleet', the largest private fleet.

As with every trucking company out there a few bad apples slip through. Unfortunately, they spoil the image of the entire Walmart Private Fleet. As a Walmart Private Fleet Driver myself I can assure you these type of driver's are few and far between. I guarantee that if they continue to dry like that it won't be long before the safety manager will here about it. If you observe these sort of drivers I encourage you to call it in and help us weed them out.

I think you only get 24 hours to edit, don't remember the exact time limit, but after that there ain't no changing it barring a payoff to a mod!

I butted heads with a few Walmart drivers when I was working in grocery receiving at a store. We weren't required to offload the overnight dry grocery merchandise until 5pm. If we got the whole trailer, they could drop and hook an empty trailer and no problem, we sign the bills and they were gone. But if it was a partial load, we could refuse until 5. We could if we had room in the warehouse area but if we still had a lot of backstock left from the nightshift, we could refuse. I worked the overnight 12am-8:30am shift. If it was a couple of pallets, I'd unload them and find room but if it was more than 1/2 the trailer and the backroom was packed, I'd usually refuse and the driver would get irate and call his dispatch, only to learn we didn't have to unload them. I felt for the guys having been a driver and knowing they wanted to get unloaded and go home but if I didn't have the room, I didn't have the room.

Too bad you are so bitter and delusional and uninformed. EVERYONE is selling stuff from China. Where else would a retail company buy from? Bill Clinton and his NAFTA policy took care of that pal. That opened the door to all our American manufacturers to go (or contract) overseas. That's Walmarts fault? If Walmart sold ONLY made in America merchandise, their stores would be the size of a 7-11. So don't blame Chinese freight for your hatred for Walmart. Just admit you don't have what it takes to get the job in the first place. Every retail store in this country sells made in China products. I never hear anyone bashing Target, K-Mart, Sears, etc. Just Walmart. Happy bashing.
