Getting ready to pull my signs and run a little outlaw I'm going home tonight. Although maybe I should go to bed I just fell off 3 miles of 8 percent weighting 127000 in high gear brakes got a hair hot which is unusual for me. I usually can get off all these hills with zero brake applications. Must be tired yep that's what I'm going with.
Where is everyone #2!!

Decided I would take the extra 30 miles and come home tonight. Going to unload my oversize tomorrow and then shoot back to a shipper just 8 miles up the road to load some pumps that are headed to Des Moines. Agent asked if I minded they load me tomorrow and I can babysit the load till Monday morning. they will pay me $400 extra for the couple days wait..... so i said I guess. Looks like a 4 days weekend for this guy
dannythetrucker Thanks this. -

Kansas.........Did I hear someone say KANSAS? I live there er uh, well I have a house there that my wife and kids live in, I get to pay the bills and visit every few weeks for a few hours.
Hey at least your getting permits. I got over the Colorado thing yesterday morning, they didn't want me exiting the state where Kansas wanted me coming in because of some re-paving at an intersection in the middle of BFE. Anyway got that worked out, all the rest of the permits were approved EXCEPT Tennessee. TN wanted a route survey so hired a pole car yesterday to run a survey, all good there then just 2 hours ago I get a rejection from the state permit office. So here I sit in St Peters, MO and not a clue how we're going to pull this one off. Can't go East, there's a couple places called Indiana and Ohio which are problems, can't cut through the bottom side of Illinois because of that place called Kentucky which doesn't want my fuel tax dollars and last, there's that Bill Clinton place to the south which doesn't care to have me travers their state either.
I'm thinking now that if I tip these things on their sides I can just permit for 13' 10" wide and go. -
Landstar ain't got no more trailers you can use for a few days ?
-
Got to my receiver, was trying to back in an 11 wide off the street when my high pressure hose popped. Great timing. Called a parts place, and they brought me out a replacement and 4 quarts of fluid. $285. Oh well, all the shops in the area wanted me to have the truck towed to their shop. Unfortunately, by the time the parts guy got there, my receiver closed. Didn't make it in time to back the trailer into the door.

Speaking of SHC and trailers I think I lost the bet. I believe I said he would switch trailers sometime in October.SHC Thanks this.

Hey Jim--all is good here. I am more of a lurker than a contributor these days. I keep my eyes on the Maverick thread. Seems like things are good for you over there.

The month ain't over yet.

Nope, keeping the step this time. It works great for running local and I have not lost out on any loads yet. Plenty of freight around here to be moved. Money is in the LTL "got to be there" loads !!
i might be doing some power only stuff in a while going to Miami tho. The place that makes these fire training containers has 5 of them for the Army and the Army has brand new chassis for them as well. I told them I would have no problems doing it as long as the rate was high enough to cover the bobtail back.dannythetrucker Thanks this.
