When I did towaways for Cedar Rapids Mfg. The rate was set for the trk. to bobtail back for every load.
Not sure how it is now.
These brokers that post power only and bid it on a one way rate need to be shot.

Well I'm only going to Garden City, Ks. I got me one of those spinner things on...
Nice thing is it's going to a laydown yard, not a job site..

Was born and raised in Garden City. In fact my 86 year old father still lives there (part time) and there's more to the story about the laydown yard and the Alcohol plant on the same property...... The old man in the white Lincoln town car is Bud ;) His bark is much worse than his bite, he's been barking at me for 45 years.

That's the only way I touch Power Only. If I find something to tow back, that just sweetens the pot for me.

    Cluck Cluck Thanks this.

Nothing new there. They have been doing will call for MI, IN, OH & KY dealers for years. Dealer will call is as big a challenge as cheap contract carriers. Currently, around 60% of tractors built in Waterloo go will call. Lots of the dealers in your neighborhood put together a 3-5 truck fleet. They haul broker freight up and their tractors back. Just part of the game.

You know when it's real bad they are hauling Tennant trks. and trls. or Rhino's equipment.
funny thing was about 2 weeks ago I saw a Keen trk, hauling a new Case combine. He was in Ks. going south towards Salina

That's because the bottom has fallen out of Cat. And what is moving is stupid cheap. Might be the reason I have been in TN since sunset Friday, wanted to bounce over to Little Rock or up to Aurora today, but there was nothing at either to go get. Come noon tomorrow I will put it in the wind and head for home.
