I have orientation scheduled for Sept. 9th, will be running intermodel based out of Louisville. There is a lot of great info on here. Some appears outdated. Could some drivers out of Louisville chime in with how they are treating you, miles, pay, etc.. I'm an experienced driver and looking forward to trying this. What trucks do they use for intermodel and how are they equipped? Any help is appreciated.

jb hunt intermodal are prostars with the bendix litigation system(really annoying) you might find some cascadias and century class in the system but they are being phased out quicky also they use the peoples net system, the pay rate is 31.5 cpm plus w/e stops pay on your area the good thing about intermodal is that the 30 minute break doesnt apply to us since we dont run pass the 150 mile radio and if we do may be once a month, they usually run us until we decide to go home o you can work 2 hours or 14 hours. hope that helps i run intermodal out of elizabeth nj.

Thanks for the reply. I'll be assigned to the Louisville terminal but I live near Lexington, so I'll be out for 5 days. Was wondering how busy they are staying. Thanks

From what I understand I'll be running on the Chicago board. Can anybody on that board give me anymore info....how many miles you're running a week, what areas you run mostly, etc... Thanks

I've been with JBHI FOR BOUT LONG AS YOU/SO WE MAY BE IN THE SAME BOAT. (Early Sept) I run out of Chicago...The job is pretty easy, the worst part is dealing with those railyards, and dealing with those tight parking slots. When you have 15 other trucks waiting for you to get out of the way, you feel pressured! You don't have the luxury of taking your time, and its EZ to bump another trailer. (I'm learning to go to another lot). ...Everyone is in such a rush, it's hard to concentrate on backing...Also the money is not what they said it would be...they said 1,075 a week...I make just over half of that...I do come home once a week, which is cool...I keep hearing people say those rail yards are a nightmare in the wintertime..The rail yards are not as busy on the weekends, which I like ....I give JBHI a grade of C+ in my book that's not passing,
its ok for now, so I don't plan on staying here long

most of the accounts pay is more than what they estimate, as normal if its mileage based then it depends on the driver.

it isn't as bad as you might think, if you stay busy working it goes quick.
