Hey guys! Sorry it took me so long, but Interstate has managed to keep me incredibly busy lol :p

I went to orientation, the first day they had us fill out paperwork, do our physical, (my blood pressure is very low! 120/70 lol and my heart rate goes up really fast but its really healthy, because it recovers really fast too.) then we did the backing test (I got out and looked quite a lot because it was a blind back, but I passed. If you aren't comfortable, they work with you to build your confidence. The guy took me back out afterwards and had me back it straight in without having to get out and look once. My confidence in backing has been way better ever since). We did the drive test after that, and I'm used to my 2013 freightliner Cascadia with 13 speeds, but I even got the hang of that pretty quick. They took us out for the test in a brand new 2014 freightliner Cascadia, so I was definitely smiling and enjoying that experience :) I passed just fine.

Day two was a lot of paperwork and basically sorting out medical, dental, vision, talks from safety, and having our truck assignments. The CEO of the company even came in and had a conference call with us, and the people from the other terminals! (which I really liked, because they keep you in on the loop of what's going on. Its not just like "drive, that's all you have to worry about!" they really keep you involved in everything. They care about you as a driver, what you think, how you feel, all of that.

I'm not sure if I should say what my truck number on here *blushes* :') but I got a 2012 freightliner Cascadia, 10 speed. She's beautiful. No problems what-so-ever, she's so good to me :') *emotional tear* lol :p

I've been out on the road for two weeks, and just now having my two days at home. I love it! I've had so many great runs. They work you, give you the miles, and you're "the captain of your own ship" you decide if you want to take a load, turn it down, drive in the rain, drive in the snow, take off too many days, whatever--my old company were basically like...you had to tell them when you felt like you had to fart lol :') *tear* haha! anyway. Overall: I love this place, I think I'm going to stick with Interstate for quite a while :)

Just wanted to update you guys, and I really appreciate that so many of you were following my posts and concerned, and interested to see how I have been doing. I love you all <3 hehe, seriously though! *insert serious face here* ;)

    Paloma Thanks this.

BB, you're right. IDC takes fine care of the tractors. Now if only they would grease the landing gears on the trailers...... the trailer maintenance really needs a kick in the pants!

    ATX Thanks this.

I live near Wilsonville, so I park my big truck there (and my car). I only stay out a full week then home for a few days.
