    In the 21st century many companies are using push out trailers or more commonly walking floor trailers 'that system of raising trucks on hydraulic platforms is outdated ask your boss to Google Titan walking floor trailers .

    We have those too for some applications but I think they're a PITA and slow compared to the big dumps that take the whole truck.
    Actually even the drop the trailer dumps at least many of them are faster than walking floors.
    The Georgia Pacific mill in Halsey, Oregon just put in a brand new platform dump so apparently they don't think they're obsolete.

    They can be dangerous tho... They are illegal here in Canada as far as I know... All the waste hauling trailers around here are walking floors or dump trailers depending on the material you haul... I use both at my company....
