Yes there is a guy posting here who is in the middle of his training there now. The actual training center is in Greer SC though. All employees spend a week there.

Everyone has to go to Greer, SC for a week of training. I just started with Superior this week. I am doing some OJT with a local driver trainer now, and am scheduled to go to Greer in the middle of November. So you will train at the terminal you are hired at with the exception of the 1 week at Greer, SC.

I will be taking my own personal vehicle. Superior will pay me by the mile to drive there. I only live about 3 hours away from the Greer terminal though. Not sure what they would do in your case. Best thing I can tell you is call the Pasadena terminal and talk to the terminal manager.

A guy from Kankakee drove to my class, but I seem to recall someone on the cd talking about flying in from Parker, AZ. I doubt the company would put you on a bus unless there was no alternative.

Can anyone chime in with info about the Kankakee terminal? I tested today and have my cdl with haz/tanker endorsement. I plan to make a personal visit on Monday to see if they have any openings. The terminal is about 115 miles from home. Could that be a deal breaker?

I also drove my car and was paid mileage at the IRS rate. My class was in Kingsport before they moved to Greer and before the recession. There were over 20 people there. Most drove cars. A couple were in company trucks and actually pulled loads into Kingsport and were dispatched out afterwards. From Pasadena you would probably have the option to fly as airfare would probably cost the company less than to pay you mileage to drive your car.
