Well unless the Western Division has changed the way they pay, United Road does NOT pay by the mile. They pay the drivers percentage.
Yes there is some that are on mileage pay but they are the old MPG guys from years past. Any new hire gets paid percentage of the load.

 

So as you go along and hit drops your percentage drops?

 

No. Example,,,,driver hauls a load that pays $500 for 50 miles and makes 25% of that which = $125 to the driver and $4.00 a mile. No pay for deadhead so if you bounce back to the same place you loaded then that makes 100 miles for $125 drivers pay which = $2.00 a mile. If it is a multiple drop load then the lesser mile units pay less and the units that go further pay more. 25% use to be the normal but I have no idea what it is anymore since I am a O/O.

 

You are just flat wrong. That was a Supreme case because Fedex dictated the start and end time for the drivers. The court ruled that since the driver owned the truck they were still independent owner operators and there for they could be paid via a 1099. Get your facts straight.
