I have hauled my share of possum belly and chip trains, as well as Keith walking floors. I think with the amount of chip trains and possum belly units on the road, mega dumpers are here to stay for awhile. Reversing Falls Pulp And Paper in Saint John NB has a very impressive Mega Dumper. It's safe, enclosed (caged) and fast. JMHO

Just curious, if the tank itself is only 10 wide all you need is flags by day and lights by night. If the light brackets are what is making it "a touch over 10", you are allowed a total of 100mm those so you wouldn't need the D sign.

I see all kinds of trucks running around with D signs, hell, even when they're bobtailing. The odd DOT will issue a ticket when the D sign is displayed and not required.

Ya the actual vessel is 10ft. Flags extra I guess.
With that truck, I was a tad over on the drives. Usually 18k. The lighter tandems are good though.
Being in a tri drive now I dont have to worry

The other downside is weight, all that apparatus is heavy so it means less payload than a possum belly.

    RoosterNB Thanks this.
