Mattywhacker: Just wondering if things are still going well for you at Super Service and how your home time has been. It has been my experience (in nearly 3 years with this company) that trying to get home is worse than pulling teeth. They take their sweet time to get you there but of course once you do get home they waste no time in getting you back out. Right now there home time policy is 1 day home for each 5-6 days out, but a minimum of 10-12 days and maximum of 3 days (after 3 weeks). This company makes it extremely hard in every way for a family man or woman.

For others looking into going to Super Service make sure you carry a pee jug and bucket with trash bags as you will spend LOTS of time sitting at customers gravel lots with no facilties because they give you loads that you have to run non-stop only to be completely out of hours when you get there. And KNOWING that you won't have enough time left when you get to a customer that does not allow overnight parking they then (continually) tell you to use "Safe Haven" to go to a truck stop or rest area, which you CANNOT do.

I feel bad for the drivers with young families as this is NOT a family oriented company in the least. Not home time wise, pay wise, etc etc. I just hope that the drivers who have a significsnt other at home that that person has a darn good job and doesn't HAVE to count on that crappy Super Service paycheck to survive. I've seen far too many wives living in the trucks with their husbands because they lost their places to live, myself included. One simply CANNOT afford TWO households on 300 mile, take all day to get loaded and unloaded dispatches. Those hort, take all day, no mileage runs may pay the company well, but totally screws the drivers. There is ZERO compensation for load time, unload time. Their "mnimum daily pay" is a joke! We've seen that maybe ONCE in 3 years and only aftr raising hell. Guaranteed weekend pay is also not guaranteed because lately they've seemed to cut that down or out too. I'd prefer my weekends at home anyways, and they can keep their $50.

I'm considering a move from Werner to Super Service. Is this a mistake?

youre moving sideways (not up), I wouldn't consider it a big upgrade.. it also depends on location location location.. is there a terminal nearby? I mean just do some research there are a lot of variables and what do you want?

if you are a student put in your time and pay off your loan before going anywhere, at least a year exp.

Hey, can anyone tell me what make tractors they're running, and what kind of transmission? I'm heading to Michigan this weekend for Monday orientation. Just received the orientation info email (such as it is... I have a call out of the recruiter to try to worm more info). Apparently there is a road test first thing. What's the test like?
