Yes, JCT accepts O/Os with their own trucks. But you'll want to contact them to get approved rather than take a trip out there and find out your truck is too old, or some other reason they might say no. We run alot of CA., so you'll have to be CARB Compliant. I hope this helps.

Great thread on TRC. Thanks for all the great info you and the others shared on a regular basis. If state residency where not a big issue, is there, in your (or any other JCT driver) opinion a "best" or "better state to live in for the JCT experience...? Thanks again, very much.

Terrys' post from a couple days ago got me thinking.

Based on the national average price for fuel and FSC, at what MPG does fuel turn into another source of revenue?

Granted that number's going change slightly from week to week.

I dropped in Tualatin, OR, this morning and finally have a little break. :biggrin_25519: I have been running against the clock all the way up here because of some of the weather so it is nice to have a little breather. I got a preplan for tomorrow to pick up in Kent, WA headed to McDonough, GA for a total of 2833 miles. :biggrin_2551: Also it is only 15,284lbs :yes2557:. I have had nothing but heavy loads since arriving here at JCT and this will be a nice fuel saving run...... I can also say I had Marcus for a DM before and he left for a better opportunity . I received a new DM which is Jeremy and he is an awesome DM. I am very happy with the company and plan to stay here making all these duckies.:biggrin_25519:
Y'all have a nice evening and keep the rubber side down.

An old Chief Petty Officer I knew in the Navy once told me he was going to give them 25 to see if he liked it then make a decision whether to make it a career or not. Sounds the same to me.

I would say that most anywhere along I-40 would be the best. You'll get through places like Dallas, OKC, Phoenix, L.A., and Albuquerque all the time. I have no problem detouring a few miles to get through Las Vegas under loads too.

If you were to move across the border to Ohio, you would be in a hiring state, but I don't know how often we actually run there. I was there last week, but I don't get through there that much. However, I don't NEED to get through there either, so maybe an Ohio driver would get some trips up there that I normally wouldn't

At this week's FSC of $.43/mile I would be burning "free" fuel at about 8.5 MPG. Here's the math: I filled up at $3.65/gal. $3.65 divided by $.43 = 8.49. What was the national average this week, about $3.88? Then your "breakeven" would be at 9 MPG.

I have a light load and a good aerodynamic trailer going east tomorrow. I'll have a shot at 8.5 for sure!

Filled my tanks for 3.53 today it was great. My scan gauge I'm running .7mpg better already. Highly recommend it. I live in Phoenix and havent left the I 10 corridor in 6 weeks I love it. I'm sitting at 8.0 right now so I'm happy
